LONDON, July 23. Sir Douglas Haig reports: Increased hostile artillerying in the neighbourhood of Villers-Bretonnoux, Hinges and elsewhere. The weather improved on rhe 22nd and several long distance reconnaissances were made. Twenty-three tons of bombs were dropped on railway stations at Cambrai, Bray, Lille, and ammunition dumps near Armentieres and Bapaume. Also on the whole of the enemy front. Twenty-three hostile machines were brought down, and three driven down uncontrollable. Ten British aeroplanes are missing. Rain prevented night flying. BOMBING ENEMY TOWNS. LONDON, July 23. The Air Ministry reports that our aeroplanes on the afternoon of the ' 22nd hit the main station at Offent burg, bursts were seen on the sidings. One hostile machine was destroyed. All ours returned. We repeatedly attacked aerodromes on the night of the 22nd with good results. Fires and explosions were observed. % We bombed and machine-gunned other targets.

SANK TWO TORPEDO BOATS. (Received this day at- 12.80 a.m.) AMSTERDAM, July 23. The recent Allied air raid sank two orpedo boats at Zeebrugge. -
