WONDERFUL GOLD YIELD
West Australia lias gone ono better says the Sydney “Sun.” New South Wales and Victoria have had their rich gold finds recently, and uot. to be outdone West Australia reported a truly sensational yield the other day. Three miners at Mount Magnet; named Best, Burt, and Morellini, working a claim caleld the Gift, have just crushed three hundred weight of stone for a return of 641 ozß. of gold, which is equal to 4260ozs to the ton. Mount Hagnet is an old mining town in tho Murchison goldfield, 481 miles from Perth. The other “strikes” wero reported last month. At the 325 ft. --‘level of the famous Long Tunnpl Mine at Gundagai very rich gold-bearing ore was found in </alette. In this mine in 1912 two hundred weight of stone yielded 35 per cent of gold. The rich find in Victoria was reported by the Hit and Miss prospecting party operating at. Little Bondi- | go, north of Ballarat east. I hoy opened I up' quartz which showed gold freely associated with a sub-seam in dyke formation.
