The King at Buckingham Palace addressed the delegates to the inter-Al-lied Parliamentary Commercial Conference and emphasises that the Allied unity of action, commercially, was proving one of the main features of our strength. He hoped this point of action would be as powerful in promoting the happiness and prosperity of the A 1 lied peoples’ at it had proved in defeating tho scheme of the enemies. May the Entente of Commerce be a guide and forerunner to that universal peace to which we all look forward with patient confidence as to the. triumph of our arms.
A ROWDY SHAKE-UP. LONDON, July 7th
Mr. Ramsay MacDonald's Independent Labour meeting at Woolwich, was broken up by discharged soldiers and others who forced their way in. A violent struggle ensued in which sticks and stones and broken chairs were used by botli sides. MacDonald escaped by the back door.

The “ Vossische Zeitung ” states ft meatless week, once monthly, is unavoidable in August, September and October in Germany.
