LATE LOCALS.
A notification in the estate of the late Robert James Gibb of Waiho, miner, a member of the New Zealand Expedition ary Force appears in this issue. It is reported that the £soq reward offered in connecfitm with the apprehension of Kggers, will in all probability, be paid over to Thomas Murray roaj and bridge contractor, who is supposed to have given the first information that led to Egger’s arrest, to the police. A conference was held at Christchurch on Wednesday between Mr J. Prostick. Efficiency Commissioner, for Canterbury, and tho executive of the General Council of the Canterbury Military district relating to matters arising out of tho resolution passed by the General Council last December. Mr IT. Norman of Koiterangi, attended the Conference as tho representative of Westland and Givv districts.
