POSTIL AND TELEGRAPH SERVICES.

The Chief Postmaster supplies the following particulars of the curtailed Post and Telegraph Services as affecting Hokitika, which arc the result of the depletion of tho staffs of the Department- for Military Service. > The curtailed services will commence on the Ist proximo. ,

Tho Hokitika office will be- open to the public for Postal nnd Telegraph business from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m only.

Money order and Savings Bank business from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Savings bank deposits will not be aceepted on Saturday evenings in future. Mails.—The mails which now close on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, davs an<l Saturdays at 6 a.m. and 7 a.m wiil in future close the previous evening at 8 p.in. All street boxes will be cleared at 7 p.m. On Monday mornings the first despatch of mails will continue to close at 7 a.m. at tho Chief Post Office, but tho street boxes will not be cleared for this despatch. All mails which now close after 0 a.m. will not he cleared for this despatch. All mails which now close after 9 p.m. daily will continue to be closed as at present, ! Two clearances will be made of the street receiving boxes, viz., at- 2.30 p.m and 7 p.m. daily except Sunday. Letter Carriers delivery—There will be only one Letter Carriers delivery daily, commencing at 10.30 a.m. Parcel mails will close otic hour before tlm advertised time for closing letter mails or at- the hour of closing' the office. . Telephone Exchange hours are not altered. Sunday Telegraph attendance is not altered. , . , . Country Offices in this district are not affected. ;
