Store cattle.—There was an exceptionally small entry and owing to the weather and poor attendance, there was practically no quotable lines sold, but the tone of the market was good, especially for well-bred young sorts. Fat sheep—There was a heavy yarding. One of the big freezing companies being unable to operate owing to want of space, the market opened decidedly easier, Us to -Is below last week’s rates, especially for ewes, but it recovered partially as the sale progressed ending about 2s all round below last sale. Some exceptionally good wethers were yarded, making up to 47s fid and a few slightly higher. Prime brought 37« fill to 12s; lightor29s to 33s (id; ewes to 425; prime, 32s to 31s; lighter, 24s to 31s: others 18s lid to 235. Store sheep.—There was a smaller yarding mostly made up of hoggets and wethers, which sold about the same as last vDek. Pest, wethers sold from 29s to 33s ; best hoggets from 2is to 24s best ewes from 28s to 32s (id.
