[per press association. —copYßianx.] DROWNED. WELLINGTON, June 19th. The body of a man was found in the harbour this morning, with a returned soldiers’ badge, 23-1931, on his coat. This badge was issued to Phillip Basil Atkinson, who was a solicitor at Fielding, his nearest relative being W. Atkin son, Wanganui.

THE KELBURN RAID. , WELLINGTON, June 19 | A new development of the Kelburr raid case occurred this morning, when Mr Justice ITosking granted a rule nisi calling on Mr McCarthy, S. M., and Constable Trieklebank to show cause why they should not be prohibited from further proceeding in the conviction of Winifred Olsen. The ground for the application was that Olsen was convicted of residing in a house of ill-fame, whereas the charge against her was of assisting in the management of tli house. The application is in addition to appeals already lodged on behalf cf Olsen and Griffen.

DOUBLE BURGLARY

ASHBURTON, This Day. There was a burglary last night, both at the residence of Henry Stephenson, auctioneer, and his oflice, which resulted in £6 being stolen from the former and £39 17s 2d from the office safe. The burglar evidently waited till Stephenson retired to bed, and took his keys off a mantlepiece, and purse containing money. He then visited the office, two miles distant, situated in the centre of Ashburton, opened the safe and cashbox, and secured £39 l"s 2d. lie left the keys on the office table.
