[PF.tt PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT.] LIEUTENANT FRICKLETON v.c. j CHRISTCHURCH, June 17. i Lieut. S, Frickleton, V.C., was accorded a civic reception this afternoon. The function uvas held outdoors and was attended by thousands of citizens who showed the greatest enthusiasm. The Mayor was the only speaker, and his remarks were frequently cheered, while Lieut. Frickleton, who was given a tremendous reception was subsequently, carried shoulder high to his ear amid cheers of the crowd nnd strains of bands. CASUALTIES. AUCKLAND June 14. William H. Scott, a fireman employed at H. Parker and Co’s Engineering works, died in hospital from injurier caused by the explosion of molten met al, which was raked out of a furnace with the ashes.
