At 2.20 p.m. General Haig reported 'We successfully raided north-westh ward of Morlancort, south-ward of the Scarpe and eastward of Nieppe Forest. The enemy raided one of our posts in Aveluy Wood. Active hostile artillery fire and gas shelling is in progress westward of Lens.
