ENEMY’S MARCH ARRESTED. SIMILAR TO PICARDY BATTLE. (Reuter’s Telegram.) LONDON, June 5. Reuter’s correspondent at French Headquarters, writing at midnight of the 4th June, says that the battle has reached a similar stage marked by that of Picardy, when the enemy’s march was definitely arrested. Now, ns then, lie cannot hope to make progress, until ho has brought up artillery, but renewed attempts, more violent than before, must be expected, but with far greater odds in our favour, as the eui - 'prise stage lias now passed. The Americans so far engaged, have borne themselves so well, as to justify the' most optimistic forecasts. The enemy must have noticed their numbers and efficiency, therefore they are likely to exert their utmost effort to reach a decision before the autumn, when increased American numbers will have wiped our the enemy’s present numericial superiority. Europe is therefore, likely to experience the bloodiest summer ever known.
