“THE IRON RING,” THURSDAY
On Thursday evening next at the Princess Theatre Pollards will present the startling World film drama, “ The Iron ltiug,” featuring the three great screen stars, Edward Langford, Arthur Ashley and Gerda Holmes. These_-big screen stars will be supported by the two new charming actresses, Alexandria Carewe and Gladys Thompson. The leading man, Edward Langford, is the actor who made such a bit when acting opposite to Clara Kimball Young in “ The Dark Silence.” “ The Iron Ring ” is a play which has been praised by picture critics as containing enough material of human emotion to enable the construction of three modern dramas. The story is a startling one dealing with matrimonial complications brought about by the dangers of flirting and the greater danger of drifting apart. Hurt by her husband’s devotion to business, yonrg Mrs Hulette becomes friendly with a gay neighbour, Mrs Leonard, whose real wickedness she never suspects. From lunches at fashionable restaur-, ants to supper parties the young wife drifts —till she finds that she is facing stark ruin. The scenes being laid amid New York society snrroundiugs are lavish in the extreme. “ The Hidden Face,” the 13th chapter of 11 The Iron Claw ” pictures how the “ Laughing Mask ” suddenly appears at the Golden house, and intimates to Margery that Davy may still be alive. But the officers are on his trail, and' he is compelled to flee. He goes in search of Legar, and finds him in a summer hotel. He is discovered and made a prisoner. However, he contrives to communicate with the office by means of an electric light, and is released. Legar gets away. The mysterious Mask then goes again to the Golden house and asks Margery to secrete him. This Bhe refuses until he reveals.his identity. Accordingly, he tears .off his mask and wipes the putty from his face. She is startled when.she learns who has been her protector.
