THE SECOND DIVISION.
LARGE DRAFT GOES FORWARD. , [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. COPYRIGHT, j CHRISTCHURCH, May 20. By far the largest draft of Reservists that has gone north for some time asembled at the King Edward Barracks this afternoon, the men consisting largely of the Second Division Reservists. Admission to the Barrack was limited strictly to the men going away. There was a very large attendance of the police in prospect of trouble. The public gathered in force outside the barracks, but although there were rumours of a demonstration the unpatriotic element was not very much in evidence. Shortly after three o’clock the roll ! call was taken in the Barracks. Tho men were a very good class of reservist, among whom could be noticed many former citizens holding responsible positions. The march of the men to the railway station was witnessed by -great crowds in. the strets. There affecting scenes at the railway station, 1 but there was not the slightest sign of i disorder or demonstration anywhere ; throughout the afternoon.
