It is officially announced that France has offered Switzerland 805,000 toils of coal monthly at 150 francs per ton, against the German demand of 180 francs. The Swiss government- originally welcomed the offer, but- ultimately under German pressure, refused it, to make fresh arrangements with Germany. Noth withstanding this, France still keeps the offer open in order to avoid the factories closing, resulting in misery for the work people.
