Boko and another were drinking in Boves’ hut and refused to leave. Boves got a revolver to frighten them away. lie fired one shot at the ceiling, and accused stated, next tiling Boko hit his arm, and caused a second shot, which accidentally hit Boko in the neck. LIMBLESS SOLDIERS. SCHEMES FQR THEIR. WELFARE. WELINGTON, May 15. The Minister of Defence has received some letters from officers of the Expeditionary Force, dealing mainly with the treatment of soldiers in hospital. General Richardson states a scheme for dealing with limbless soldiers turned out a great success. The men are keen, cheerful and hopeful as to their future. He is now organising a big scheme of education for the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, which will apply to men in hospitals as well as to all tit men in units. The object is to encourage men to devote spare time to improving their minds and making themselves better citizens.

Colonel Parkes wrote that there shortly would he dispatched to New Zealand three mechanics under Sapper Cook who have received instruction ns to the best methods of artificial limb manufacture. He hopes before long to hear not only of the repair, but the coin pletp, manufacture of artificial limbs be ing completed in the Dominion. Sir James Allen said that an Allied Conference was to be held in London iu May, and New Zealand would he represented by General Robinson anu ,Sir Thos Mackenzie.
