PEKING, May sth. China’s internal condition is gloomy. Although northern troops generally prevail over the southern, there is little hope of the cessation of fighting. Several provinces are completely in the hands of brigands, who are kidnapping people and holding up trains in a most daring manner.
GERMAN ESCAPEES CAUGHT-

Two naval German prisoners of war, who escaped from Larkhill camp on the 17th April, were caught at Deal when attempting to escape in a small open boat to Zeebrugge. The boat was well stocked with food. The men had been hiding nt day and tramping an night, for eighteen days.
GREEK TRAITOR MURDERED
(Received This Day at 9.50. a.m.) ATHENS, May 6.
A report recently announced the death from apoplexy at Goerlitz of Colonel Hazzopoulos, who surrendered Seres and Kavalla to the Bulgarians. It is now a,scretained that Hazzopoulos was murdered by a Greek sergeant, as the result of a conspiracy by Greek officers interned at Qoerlit?.'
