SUCCESSFUL RAIDS MADE

LONDON, May 2.

A French communique states that German attacks in the region of Thennos and north of Avro failed under our fire. Enemy attempts north of Chavignor and north-west of Rlfeims were also unsuccessful. We made raids notably in the direction of Somonchel and west of Coucey and Le Chateau at north of Pontomoussva at Vcrlu.

BAUNE WOOD CAPTURED

LONDON. May 3rd.. ,A. French communique issued on the 3rd May at 12.25 a.m. states that there has been considerable reciprocal activity north and south of Avre. We appreciably progressed at Hangard Wood and captured Baune Wood south-west of Maillyraineval. Artillery fighting is in progress between Parroy Forest and the Vosges.
