CARELESS AGENTS.

The careless'.manner in which the railway authorities handle, valuables, has been exemplified by a disclosure made at Sydney the other day. An official report has been received by the Chief Railway Commissioner stating that a guard on a western-bound train, about a fortnight back, having occasion to go to a bullion chest in his van, wd's surprised to find therein two bags of money which had not been committed to his care.
