A SAD END. NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day The body of Mrs Osborne, wife of R e v. S. S. Osborne, was found in PuUeku’ra Park lake this morning. 'She had lately been suffering from nervous break-down, aggravated by the loss of her son at the front.
AN ALLEGED PICKPOCKET

lu the Police Court tcPday, George Garrick, alias James . Walker, on whom £l6O in cash and bank securities worth nearly £2OOO were found when he was arrested, was charged that, being a reputed thief, he frequented ia public place with felonious intent.
It was stated that he behaved in a suspicious manner in a queue outside a place of amusement, and the police suspected him of, picking pockets. He was remanded for a week. WOMEN. WELLINGTON, April 22. Dio Minister of Internal Affairs has
received a letter from the Women’s National Reserve, urging that the women of the country should be organised to enable men to be spared from industries to answer the British Government’s appeal for more men. The letter mentions that, the Women’s Natiosnl Reserve lias machinery ready to help the Government.
