APPLICATIONS STILL RECEI\ - INC. WELLINGTON. April 16 Interviewed to-day regarding the Loan, Sir Joseph Ward, said that in view of the compulsory clauses provided for under the Finance Act, he felt it was only fair to give sufficient time to those who had not subscribed, to have their applications pht in, and reasonable time would be given for that purpose. Applications would continue to he received by all Banks and Post Offices throughout the country, as well as by the Treasury. He was not in a position at present to make a statement regarding the total subscribed; but he could say it was a very good response. He would make a final statement about the matter in the - course of a. day or two. when the fig- ■ u.fes were fully compiled.
