The balance-sheet, and Statement oi account was read and adopted. 1 lie balance-sheet showed a deficit of £4O on the year’s operations, this being accounted for by the suspension of the Government annual grant, due to the war: also the increased price of books, magazines and periodicals. It was proposed, and carried that the annual subscription be raised to £] a year, and this would greatly assist tinfinances. and t!i ( . committee could then provide more books. Tf Was generally felt that tin- subscribers, knowing tli-.-acute position of the finances, would gladly pay the extra subscription, a-n! it was urged that all subscribers should each try and get. new subscribers Air Wood suggested the Reading Room should be open to the public on Sunday afternoon between 2 and I I'.m., and this was unanimously agreed to.

The Rev. P. B. Fraser was again unanimously elected president; hook selection committee. Airs Butler, Air R. Wild and Mr AY. E. Williams : museum committee, Mr P. Stewart Air G. Wood and Dr. Teiehelmann. A vote of thanks, to the chair coneluded the meeting.
