(Received This Dav at 10.15. 1 m ) LONDON April 8. General Haig reports we "advanced bur line slightly during the night on the south ..bank of the Somme, - eastward of Viresons and Corbie.. There was increased hostile artillerying during the night on jfhe whole battle front. There was heavy, hostile, gas shelling between Lens-La Bassee canal, also eastward of Armentieres.
