Desert Gold’s first appearance at Rand wick created great interest, crowds flocking round the box to obtain a glimpse of the champion who started a red hot favourite in the Autumn Stakes. She fully justified expectations. She went to the front early and was 'never headed, and brilliantly ridden by McLachlan she walked away from the field in the last furlong. The mare received a great ovation. First Hurdles—Lootoo 1, Basil K. 2, Montank 3. Thirteen started. Won toy two lengths. Time 3.4-iy. Autumn Stakes —Desert Gold 1, Thana 2, Gndabout 3. Twelve started. Desert Gold maintained a length’s lead, and easily .shook off Thana’s challenge in the straight, and came away at the distance and won by tour lengths. Time 2.23. Sires' Produce Stakes —Outlook 1, Red Fox 2, Sweet Lady 3. Eight starters. Won easily by four lengths. Time 1.27. Doncaster Handicap —Dame Acre 1, Panacre 2, Cetigne 3.
