All Ministers are uniting in an effort to raise recruits, in response to Hon. Lloyd George’s appeal. The Director of Recruiting states the total enlistment for the past three months was six thousand.

Speaking at Bendigo Mr. Watt said Australia his year had spent ninety seven million in the • war expenditure, thirteen millions of which came out of revenue and the remander was raised bv loan.
