Staveley, the | organiser of the entertainment, is able S to hand over to the Patriotic Funds \ for sick and Wounded Soldiers. This is | a very pleasing result indeed, and efj feeds every credit on all concerned, j It will be remembered that there were i three performances on successive nights last month of “Tl\e Gondoliers.” The . receipts were as*follows: First night £54/2/6; Second night £52/5/-; Third night, £2l/9/6; total £127/17/0. The expenditure in regard to these performances were:—Government amusement Tax £7/1/10; printing and advertising £lO/9/-; transit charges £lB/14/2; Theatre account £ls/16/4; . royalty and hire of band parts and lib- : retto, £2l/0/6; paints and supplies, £4 : 11/5; calico and other material for sce- ! nerv, £2/4/7; carpenter and sundries, j £4/16/6, a total of £B4/14/4. This gave i a credit balance of £43/2/8. An extra 1 performance was given on the Ist of this month, when the receipts were i £4l/2/- ; and the expenses for sundries 13/-, leaving a credit of £4O/9/-. The total receipts were therefore £T6B/19/-. and the total expenses £BS/7/4. The credit balance for the patriotic funds is £B3/11/8.

This excellent result is due to the watchful management, and of course, the generosity of the performers in providing their expensive wardrobe at thenown cost. The balance sheet, together with all the receipted accounts may he seen at the Town Hall by those desiring to see, same
