The fact of the matter is, T I have changed the name of Mean's Es- | soiree to - Heenzo (which word 1 have re- i gistored as a trade-mark 1 in order to ! protect the public against the imitations of my ‘Tlie success achieved by Heap’s Es- , sence has brought to light quite a num- j her of people who are seeking to make ; money at the expense of the public and myself. There (have been discovered no less than seven imitators at work putting up inferior substitutes. If i they had put"up a cough mixture essence hearing their own name I would j have had no quarrel with them, hut in every instance they adopted a fictitious | name ol one syllable only so that it j might he easily confused with my own name. Against some of tliese T have > obtained New Zealand Supreme Court j injunctions restraining them, from fur- j tlier infringement of my rights. Others , have discontinued imitating Renn’s Essence without having to go to court. “The trade-marking ol: the word ‘Heenzo,’ and its appearance on the cartons and bottles of all my prepara. J tions in future, will safeguard buyers against piracy. It is worthy of mention just here that several of the .imitations of 1 fean’sEssenee were such in name only. Upon analysis they were found to he largely composed of paregoric and laudanum, extracts of the deadly habit forming opium drug', the inclusion of which in cough mixtures for "fahilly use cannot he too stionglv discouraged. “1 hope the public will fully realise the importance of availing themselves of the protection which tlie trade-mark “Heenzo” will afford them. Of course there is still a good deal of genuine Mean’s Essence distributed through the country which docs not hear the trade mark named on the cartons and labels ; but this will soon all he used up, and the name ‘Heenzo’ will quickly become as familiar as Hean’s Essence is no" Heenzo (Hoan’s Essence) is sold by most chemists and stores, or sent promptly post free on receipt of price, 25., from Hean’s Pharmacy, Wanganui,
