[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT.) W.C.T.U. PROTEST. TBTARU, March 20th. The W.C.T.U. passed a resolution to-day as follows: —“This Convention, representative of women of the W.C.T. U. of the Dominion of New Zealand expresses its utter abhorrence at the effrontery of Miss EUie. Rout, in implying that New Zealand hoys must he supplied with remedies to make wrong doings .safe and sin easy. We contend Ihnt we send our sons to fight tot purity and righteousness, and .utterly discountenance everything that slackens their moral fibre, and self-control. We place on record an emphatic repudiation of the prophylactics and woman who advocates them.”

The final figures announced to-dov for the Red Triangle Appeal, slioW that the tsurget aimed at for the whole dominion of £IOO,OOO, was exceeded by £10,927. Grand Total £110,927 , FOUND DROWNED. WELLINGTON, March 10. The body of a man, Charles Lett, 82 well-known in the Masterton and Wellington districts was recovered from the liarbiur at eleven this morning. The hands and legs were loosely tied. Foul play is not suspected. The body had' been in the water a short time only. The 'head and face are very much bruised as if dashed against the rocks. LYTTELTON PROTEST. .CHRISTCHURCH March 19. When the Transport arrived at Lyttelton to-day ‘there was great disappointment at the people not being allowed on the wharf by the Military Authorities. The Mayor of Lyttelton in a speech said that it-was an insult to those Who had boys coming home and an insult to the hoys themselves Eventually the crowd broke through the rope barricade, hut the people were quite orderly. Further excitement caused by a soldier falling overboard and being rescued by a returned soldier Sergeant ’Harold Rhind, D.C.M.
