DUTCH CONDITIONS.
(Reuter’s Telegram.; (Received This Day at 11.25. a.in.) LONDON, March loth. Holland has insisted on the following conditions: —-Firstly—We must be allowed to participate in Dutch shipping spaces. Secondly—coal must bp delivered in Dutch ships for that purpose. Thirdly—The Allies guarantee Dutch shipping will not lie' used in the danger zone. For »tke conveyance of troops and war materials and that the ships he. unarmed, and crews allowed to participate in their navigation; also that ships destroyed be replaced im•nediatly after the war. Nolons, leader of the Catholic Party, protested against the Entente’s attitude, especially in view of their claim that they were the protectors of small nations. The Dutch Parliament debates the agreement on Thursday. DUTCH SHIPPING. (Received This Day at 9.30. a.m.) NEW YORK Alarch 19.. The seizure of Dutch shipping has been delayed for a few hours, but the officials do not believe Holland will agree to the demands. It* is understood Holland agrees to the Allies’ use of the ships, provided they are V not •used in carrying troops or munitions, which conditions neither America nor the Allies will accept.
HOLLAND’S CONSENT. (Received Tl'ifs Oav at l 1 25. a.in.) HAGUE, March 19. The Foreign Minister stated that Holland has consented to the Entente’s claim to navigate Dutch vessels in the danger zone. In exchange, the Entente offered one hundred thousand tons of wheat. AFRICAN PROTEST. i l?er-ei\ ed « IV ” «*t VM. a.m ' CAPETOWN, March 19. The Nationalist press strongly denounces the decision to utilise Dutch Shipping in Allied ports, as a flagrant breach of neutrality.
