PRESIDENT WILSON'S MESSAGE
TO THE SOVIET’S CONGRESS. WASHINGTON March 12. Mr Wilson’s message to the Afoscow Conference of Soviets states, inter alia : L wish to take advantage of the Congress of Soviets to express sympathy with the people of America for the Russian people in this moment, when Germany is endeavouring to turn back Russia’s whole struggle for freedom and substitute Germany’s wishes for the purposes of the Russian people. Although the United States Government is unhappily not in a position to render direct effective aid, I wish to assure the people of Russia that America will avail herself of every opportunity to secure Russia’s ‘ complete sovereignty, and independence and the full restoration of her great role in the life of Europe and the modern world.
AMERICA\S SYMPATHY. OTTAWA March 11. President Wilson sent a' message conveying America’s sympathy and support to Congress and the Soviets jat Afoscow. He udded:—“The Germans are attempting to neutralise Russia’s struggle for freedom, and although America is how unable to render direct effective aid, she will take the opportunity to assist Russia to secure complete sovereignity and independence.
