LATE LOCALS.
The Paeroa sails for Okarito on Mon-' doy. The Paeroa/ sails for Westport Races with passengers (if sufficient inducement offers), leaving Hokitika at 9 p.m. on Fridav 15th, and leaving Westport on return at 11 p.m. on Saturday, 16th inst. Two visitors from this district tool; part in the Citizen’s Band concert programme at the Opera House Greymoufcb on Tuesday evening. The Grey Star commenting on the programme says “Miss Perry (Hokitika) was quite ■„ host in herself. In the first part sin gave a very fine interpretation of tin vocal number “Morning,” and in re spoiise to the cordial applause she sang “‘All of a Summer’s day.” Even thei the audience were ' not, satisfied am she had to add another item. In tin second part she was equally successful in her singing of “When I Come Home,” and was again recalled. Miss A. Wells’ (Woodstock), rich contralto voice did \fnil justice to “Thb Rosary,’ and she had to give an additional item before she was allowed to go. In tinsecond part she sang “Angus McDonald,” which was" one of the most popular items on the programme and was ■splendidly sung.
