They jj are exposed to scandalous treatment. | When thirty girls refused to make sacks for the enemy they were locked I up without proper food or light for j over a month. Their mattresses, bed. clothes, and even woollen underclothing, were taken, and they were only released when a .Spanish inspector nr- J rived to visit the camp. The Germans made an effort to hide the outrage, but the Spaniard learnt the facts.
