/ LONDON February 14. . Afladrid wireless; German' submariners boarded boats containing the Ceferinos rescued crew who landed on the Island of Hiefo. They demanded, the delivery of two Germans who were domiciled in the town.

The Mayor replied that they were interned at Teneriffe.

The Mayor and another official were conveyed on board the submarine as •hostages, while the Germans telegraphed to Teneriffe, and ■ were liberated when the internment was confirmed.

Norwegian merchantmen with a tonnage of 1,000,000 has been lost over the war. Eight hundred and eighty three seamen were drowned, and 53 Norwegians, ships, with crews number ing over 700, are posted as missing. About two thirds of the latter are war losses.
