POLLARD’S PICTURES,

“TOM BROWN’S SCHOOLDAYS.” To-morrow night (Thursday) at the Princess Theatre Pollard’s Pictures will present the splendid picturisation by the Windsor Companys of Thomas Hughes great classic “Tom Brown’s Schooldays” the greatest story ever written of “School Boy” to the “Good-five Old School.” The picture is a masterpiece of film production and is a faithful rendering of the making of a man in one of the greatest public schools —“Rugby.” This picture was honoured fiy a special command presentation ai Windsor Palace fiy His Majesty—The King. Tom Brown is the son of Squire Brown whose neighbours, alarmed at the boy’s pranks, wait on him to suggest stricter discipline. The Old Squire turns them out and Tom eventually goes to Rugby where the famous Doctor Arnold is headmaster. Tom’s favourite sister has run away from home and been disowned by the irate old squire. Tom’s school days are full of incident, and there are adventures and escapades in which lie takes a prominent part. The story shows the unfolding of a young man’s character, and the queer fact that a great school is simply a .little world of its own. A youngster is put in Tom’s charge by the headmaster and proves to bo a little hero. Latoi on, at the school breaking Lip Tom find; that the little fellow is actually the sou of his erring sister. He plucks up courage and takes Arthur and his sist-C' 1 t-o their home, and finally father and daughter are reconciled.
