BARTON’S CIRCUS

CASS SQUARE, TO-NIGHT

Barton’s Circus came into town today, and are located on Cass Square, where they will give the opening performance of their season to-night. A Westport paper, speaking of their recent visit there, says: —The two Fredo boys, musical acrobats, were fully up to expectations. Their clever acrobatic feats, the performers playing music all the while, won unstinted applause. Miss Alena .Val, the champion lady stock-whip cracker, handled her whips, with remarkable facility, and was a host in herself. Miss Valdaro executed the most difficult cycling evolutions in a hair-rais-ing manner, and when she finished smiling she was warmly . applauded. Miss Alton, in her hoop turn, seemed not to have a bone in her body. Marguerita excelled as an equestrienne, performing the most difflcul Meats with the greatest ease: Miss Mona, Bell was exceedingly clever in her wire-walking, and balancing turn. The Merry Demos and their assistants were well trained, for .they saw that not a moment lacked interest. Trick ponies, horses and. a donkey performer, and local riding all helped to provide an excellent evening’s entertainment. To-morrow afternoon at 2.30 o’clock a matinee will be held, and in the evening the final performance of the season will be given ( The circus visits Ross on Monday.
