AKA 11 UR A. EAT STOCK SALE, The usual fortnightly fixture was field ni the above yards yesterday, when Messrs W. Jeffries and Co. submitted to auction 30 head of fat cattle, 86 fat sheep and 51 lambs. There was a goou attendance of buyers, and while sheep were dull of sale, cattle sold well in advance of the last two sales. The whole of the yarding comprised ox beef, and averaged from 42s to 45s per hundred. The following sales were effected:
On account of Mr .fas Donovan: 1 heavy-weight bullock £lB 10s. 11 medi-um-weight bullocks irom £l4 £s 6d t*» £dl 15s, 3 handy weight bullocks £lO !7s 6d.
On account of Air 11. Karnhnch: 10 medium bullocks from £l3 15‘s to £l2. On account Mr W. R. Karnbaqh : 4 :odiui"n-woight bullocks from £l4 L>s o £l2.
SHEEP. — Account Mr W. Thompson: 15 ewes and wethers at 25s Od, 31 'nmbs at 22s 6d.
Account Mr J. G- Moharry: 65 fat sheep at 27s 6d. A’ccount Air R. A. Harcourt: 29 nixed ewes and lambs (stores) at 15s.
A very fine draft of 80 prime fat lambs grown by Air R A Harcourt, of TTumhprcys, went forward to Christchurch yesterday, having been privately disnosed of to an East Coast buyer. The lambs were another testimony of the capabilities of this 'Coast for fattening purposes, and in addition were good frames, and well-wooled.
