[rrn press association.- -copyright.] THE FLOOD DISASTER. BRISBANE January 28. All efforts to reach the Mnekay isolated district are so far futile. T 1 is understood that the Bowen missed fhe cyclone; hut traffic is interrupted by floods and bridges have been washed away. Telegraphic dislocation continues and the Cloncurry district is nou isolated.
The Federal Government has donated £SOOO to relief purposes.

Buttaburra township is flooded, cutting of all communication with Northern Queensland. t The “McKay Standard” of the 26th states a break in the fine weather occurred on the 4th. When the cyclone' struck the town on the 19th it was blowing .from the south. Later it came from the oast, and then from the north, to which was due the great extent of damage. The main portion of the town is in ruins, scarcely any buildings escaping. 'Hie cyclone continued with unabated force for fourteen hours. The rainfall for eighteen days was nearly four feet.
So far nineteen bodies have been cued.
It is understood Townsville escaped. The coastal shipping service is bo coming normal.
