THE KAISER'S TWADDLE.
A birthday greeting. (Received This Day at 12.20. p.m.) AMSTERDAM, Jan. 2b. In acknowledging the Court preachers birthday greetings, the Kaiser tidegraphed—“With deep thankfulness 1 commemorate to-day, God s_ gi eat deeds for the German people. 11c lias given historical success to our colours, removed many sorrows and kept the Faterland through distress and privations. I hope our church will help me after having victoriously finished the war in peaceful competitions with other confessions, to heal wounds, consolidate controversies and unite and strengthen our people in enthusiasticunselfish devotion to the Fatherland. My special sympathy i s with the- great tasks set equally before the churches and State in the reconstruction of family life and the education of a God fear ing, healthy, young generation worthy of their fathers.”
