Marshal Haig reports: AA’e captured a position in patrol encounters south of Lens. The enemy raided a post east of Loos. There is hostile artillerying at Flesquircres, Bullecourt, ■ and Poelchapelle. . The War Office reports that Arabs captured a Turkish convoy east of Medina. A French communique says there is a lively artillery duel at Caurieres Wood, where au enemy raid failed.

General Haig reports enemy raided a post south of Fontaine les Croiselles The enemy party were driven off. Northward of Passcbendaele hostile ar tillery was active and at Havrincourt and Poelcappelle. There was hard air fighting all along the line greatly in our favour. We brought down sixteen and one of ours arc missing. Our nightflyers yesternight dropped eight tons of bombs, bonlbingfive large aerodromes in the neighbourhood of Ghent and billets in the vicinity. of Douai.
There were 160 bombs dropped on a new aerodrome westward of Tournai BRITISH FRONT EXTENDED. (“reuter’s” telegram.]
(Received This Day at 1.20 a,m.) LONDON January 27. A special correspondent at the British front says the British have taken over more of tlie French lines.
The British front now extends slightly south of St Quentin. AMERICANS ENGAGED. WASHINGTON, Jan. 25. General Pershing cabled that Americans have been in action on the French Front on several occasions this week. HAIG’S REPORT! LONDON January 27. Marshal Haig reports aviation activity on the northern front. Wo dropped over three hundred bombs on Courtrai, Ledeghem, and Douai railway stations, the aerodrome at Courtra, and billets westward of Cambrai. Our night fliers bombed aerodromes and billets at Ghent, Courtrai, and Roulers. All returned. We also bombed Mannheim factories, bitting a factory, dock and the t°wn; also barracks and railway station at Treves; steelworks at Thionville; railway stations at. Searbruoken, and Clerbiliig.
Our pilots report large explosions at all objectives, and a large fire at Treves.
