Hogge stating from a private cqnferference showing that the proposed 450,000 men were inadequate to meet the military situation. Air. Hogge said the Government had not given an adequate statement regarding thfi war. i‘l know facts,” he said “ though I cannot state them. The conditions of war are as stated, but the man-power prospects are absurd, a tnero flea bite and do no meet the situation. It is fooling the House and the public to suggest that this manpower i s goitig to bring them nearer to victoTy. Let the War Minister tell the House about America; what help America' can give, and when can she give it. Let him tell , how England is being hied of men and material and money in order to maintain the position in a war, which, in autumn, may find us no nearer victory.” Cries of dissent. On enquiry, Air. Tlogge paid: “I do not mean that the Germans can break the line.” r '
