BOWLING.

, WKST CO.MIT TOURNAMENT

Tile West Coast Bowling tournament opens to-mprrow at 1) a. m., when . the rink games will be plavod, three rounds being set down for tbe day. On Wednesday morning the pairs competition will be commenced. The green will ,be found hardly up to the usual standard of excellence. The spell of fine weather before Christmas dried up a great deal of grass and recent rains hare, not brought it back again, in spite of the care and attention given, with the result that there are a number of hare patches, which tend to make the surface uneven and bumpy, in spite of a liberal rolling. The green, however, will run fairly fast so that it will probably give satisfaction to the players.

The visitors will arrive by the morning train, and as soon as they make their way to the green, after a. short formal opening ceremony, the howls will be set rolling. Fine weather is all that is required to ensure the success of the tournament .
