CLASS ‘‘A” MEN ON JANUARYIS| A Gazette Extraordinary calling up the remaining members of Class A of the Second Division (married men without children) will be issued on January 15. Two ballots' have been taken in
this class 5000 names being drawn on • each occasion. About 3800 men remain in the class. The Gazette will contain also a lie names of about 600 First Division men who have become available (juring recent weeks. They con- i sist for the most part of youths who j have attained the age 20 years. s j. The married men who are called -up i this month will be liable to be taken j into camp during the period April 30 to j Hay 4, bu# it appears certain that they j will not he required before June. The j dates have still to be fixed definitely, but the recruiting authorities have indicated that the first batch of Class A men will not be required to mobilise before April or May.
