The death occurred suddenly to-day of Mr Thomas Field, founder of Wilkins and Field Hardware Company, aged 85 years. He was a well known citizens of Nelson and the West Coast in the early days. Deceased was on a visit from Auckland, where he had been living for some years past. He was the father of Mr Thomas Field. M-P.
