Air Julius Price reports from the Italian front:—ln the shallow valley between Franco and Austrian lines at Monte Toruha the Austrians brought up a picked division expecting an onslaught after several hours bombardment. The French, with ljtiud hurrahs, scrambled over the aprpet and charged down the snow clad slopes. The Austrians immediately opened a tremendous barrage against the figures silhouetted on the snown background. The Frenchmen, with downhill impetus, carried on up the slope and hand to hand fighting took place along the whole line. The issue was never in doubt. ITALIAN GUNS. VIENNA, Jan 4. The “Roichpost” states that Aus-tro-Germnn artillery at the front is no longer, superior to the Italians. In two months they readjusted the balance, bringing up enormous numbers of guns of all calibres. They have thousands of guns in the sector .between Asjago and Piave alone. PADUA AGAIN BOMBED. LONDON January 4. C Italian offiejial—There is consider-’' able artillery activity in various sectors. The enemy has rebombed Treviso and Padua.
