The cricket match resulted in a draw. Canterbury in the first innings made 244, (North 40, Perrin 64, Allardvce 35, Read 14. Hay 14.) and 293 for 9 wickets, innings declared closed (North 75, Hay 19, Blunt 32. Allnrdyce 60, Read 10. Booth 22, Thomas 35.)
Wellington in the first innings made 122. (Burton 24, Wilson 17, Omdliffe 22. Brice 18), and in the second innings had lost Jive wickets for 312 when time was called (Hiddlestone 74, Wilson 60, Baker 76, Bind 63 not out.)
