NO STEAMERS NEW YORK.
CHARTERS GO TO SAILING SHIPS. There have been rumours in' shipping circles in Sydney and Melbourne that no more steamers would load in New York for Australian ports. The rumours were confirmed this morning (says the Sydney “Sun ’’ of tith inst) by ff; cablegram received by Mr George A. Parkes of the United States and Australian Steam Shipping Company, to the effect that no steamers scheduled to sail for any line will leave for Australia. It is understood that charters will go to sailing vessels.
