To-night in Wellington Miss Mina Onldow takes one of the leading parts in the “Messiah.” The Paeroa is announced to sail for Bruce Bay and Okuru to-morrow night. The Kennedy leaves Wellington on Wednesday for Nelson, Westport and Greymouth, and then returns Picton. 'lhe Defender leaves "Wellington for Hokitika, on Friday. On arrival at Hokitika she loads a- large quantity of wool for Wellington. t The conference of representatives of the National Efficiency Committees is now sitting at Christchurch? Fifty delegates are present from all parts of the Canterbury Military District. A large number of matters are set down for discussion. To-day a deputation from the Conference waited on Sir Joseph Ward in regard to railway matters. Mr. H. Norman is representing the Westland Efficiency Committee.
