ROSS NEWS.

The death took place at Ross last night of Mr Thomas Tally. He had been ailing for a considerable time past. Tile deceased was a well-known resident of Ross for many years. In the early eighties Mr Tally was a well known figure on the Hokitika-Kuina ra coach road, having the agency for various papers and periodicals. Later on he was licensee of the Suburban Hotel on (lihson'.s Quay, and after retiring therefrom, finally settled in Ross. Tie was a typical Englishman, and non many friends, who will hear of his death with regret. He was a native of Midland England, and 78 years of age. A widow i s left to mourn her loss.
