Ma ss will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church on Sunday next at 7.30 a.m. and first- communion given by the Rev. Father Mangan, C. S S.R.
Much interest is being shown in the howling match on the local green to-morrow afternoon, Caledonian Society v. Rest- of Club. All players will be found a game, and itis requested that all men he in attendance at 2.30. plin. sharp so that the details of play can be promptly arranged. The Caledonian team will inarch around the green headed by the Bagpipe Band.
Thy- Grey River Argus says :—Hokitika has fixed up with Ireland to fight the winner of the Griffon-Murphy bout on January Bth, file night of tho races. It will he a great fight. The Coast is lucky in having such great fights here during the _ holidays. They are also putting on a six round special bout between Redwing, and Duggan, of Runanga. Hokitika ought to have a' bumper house on Jan. Bth.
