CATLLAUX THE TRAITOR. ~PARIS, Dec. 12. Le Petit Journal” says the steps attributed to M. Caillaux in Rome have stirred the Italian Government to the highest degree. M. CAILLAUX’* "PERFIDY. (Reuter’s Telegram.) (Received This Day at 9.15 a.m.) PARIS December 13. A letter from the Military Governor arranging Caillanx, states numerous letters given by M. Caillaux were found a t the residences of 8010 and others. Ho continued to correspond with 8010 after tlio latter was charged with treason. Caillanx went to Rome in November with a false passport, and, entered into relations with well known Germanopbiles, three of whom have since boon arrested. - In a conversation at Rome in the present of important personages, Oaillaux declare France would be unable to continue the war beyond the spring or 1917, when he would resume office and sign peace. Therefore, Italy might prepare to make a separate peace with Germany, who would grant Ttnly and France astonishing advantages, as Russia and the -Balkans would pay all their war expenditure. 'Serbia and Roumnnin would disappear as they deserved.

Tlie\ Government commenting, says apparently the idea of Caillaux was tlie conclusion of an Alliance, after the war between Franco, Germany, Spain and Italy, against Britain and Russia, whom Caillaux referred to as our real enemies. The Governor adds that the facts revealed justify that Caillaux worked for the destruction of our alliances and thus seconded the progress of the enemy’s aims.
