RUSSIAN NEWS. (Reuter’s Telegram.) PETRGRAD, Dec. 12th. An incendiary manifesto by the Military Revolutionary Committee cabled yesterday was withdrawn at the last mjment. A number of processions in celebra- ' tion of tho opening of the Constituent Assembly converged at Tauride palace, outside of which a succession of extempore meetings were held, but there were no disorders. A SIBERIAN MOVE. fAUSTRALIAN & N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION] TOKIO, Dec. 12th. Siberia will shortly declare its independence and repudiate the Bolsheviks. ESCAPING PRISONERS. ROME, Dec. 12. 1 The Russian Embassy states that since the Revolution, the supervising of Austrian and German prisoners in Russia is merely nominal. Fully half have regained liberty, aqd scattered broadcast. _ Thousands have settled down in Russia, and enormous numbers have escaped to Asia. Many, who were Slavs, Roumanians and Italians, have joined the Roumanian army. INTERNAL RUSSIA. (Reuter’s Telegram.) PETROGRAD. Dee. 13. Maximalists forcibly dissolved the Senate. The Red Gaurds are arresting more Government officials. A decree .has been issued ordering the arrest of the principal Cadet leaders, and the surveillance of Cadet organisations in view of the latter’s conferring with Kaledin and Korniloff. A KONILOFF BRUSH. (Received this day at 1.20 a.m.,) LONDON, Nov. 13. The “Morning Post’s” Petrograd correspondent says on of General Korniloff’s detachments, is between Beilogorod, but his main body dispersed the Bolshevik force, many of whom downed arms anil joined Korniloff’s cause. INTERNAL RUSSIA. • Received, this day at 8.45 a.m. LONDON December 13. The Morning Post’s Petrograd correspondent says the opponents of the ! Bolsheviks claim that power must remain iri the /hand of self-appc|intod commissaries of the people. They demonstrated to-day demanding that power shall belong to the Constituent Assembly, meanwhile other parts of Russia are active. Siberian troops are organising under General Pleshkoff. The Siberians are understood to favour a monarchy and it is rumoured that they intend to bring the ex-Czar and family from Tobolsk to European Russia.
General Korniloff has broken through all opposition and will soon join forces wfith Kaledin at NoVstcherkast. He [ commands a division of some “death” * battalions and artillery.
