PORTUGUESE RIOTS. (Reuter’s Telegram.) 1 , MADRID, Dec. 8. Anti-Government outbreaks have occurred in Lisbon and Oporto. At Oporto two were killed, and sixty sent to hospital in collisions with the soldiers. Seventy-eight have been arrested. The latest report is that order has Leon restored in Oporto. SHOPS PILLAGED. MADRID, Dec. 9. Fighting began on Wednesday night. The revolutionary forces entrenched on the heights dominating Lisbon,, and consisted of three infantry regiments, one cavalry, two battalions of artillery, and officers of the military school with twenty field guns. During the fighting seventy were killed and-five hundred wounded. Many shops were pillaged, and a military dictatorship established. It is stated that Machado resigns the Presidentship, and joins the new Government.

ORDER RESTORED MADRID, Dec. 9. Order is re-established in Portugal. Signor Pais, leader of the Moderates, announces that the sole object of the new Government is to safeguard the country and the republic. It will continue to co-operat© with Britain and all the Allies. He urges that unity in the army is indispensable, especially at the present time. A NEW OABINET. (Reuter’s Telegram.) (Received this day at 12.30 a.m.) MARDRID, Dec. 10. Senhor Pinontada will replace Senhor Machado as President, after the Revolutionary Cabinet is formed.
